How can you ask the question if most of the game are eggs and with high ping like idk and all of them ranger as fuck don’t know how to fix rate and snaps as always but this game is oldschool enough so…. It’s gonna still be like that if the quality I think 🤔
 
I'm not experiencing this kind of range either. But what I am constantly experiencing is everyone instantly switching to snaps 20 when they seek lmao.
 
Oh I do need to add. The fix is done in a different way. You can set /rate 1 and /snaps 1, they will be ignored. So even if you see in stats that player has low snaps / rate, they are discarded. Snaps is enforced to sv_fps (so in 3D, snaps will effectively be fixed to 30, nothing you set on /snaps cmd will change that), /rate is controlled by min and max rate cvars. Min rate is 15k, so clients cannot go below that, otherwise they'd still be bombarded with high rate.

I did notice very minimal jitter while playing with rate 1 and snaps 1, but that only happened on my client side and it was very minimal.

I always wondered why it is not prevented to edit the value of the snaps and rate ?, can we make it fixed? , and why I only see snaps and rate case in SOF2?
EG: "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault" As I remember this game is running with the same engine that sof2 does so why I see only this in sof2?

its not only in sof. But the main reason is because internet was slow as fuck during early 2000's. So you were able to steer the rate and snaps the server sends. Rate defines how much data at once can you manage, while snaps handles how often you get the state updates.
