I added a new gametype (and a new server) today called csinf.

The gameplay by itself is basic inf, just that you have to buy weapons for cash, which you get from playing / killing. So, like counter strike meets sof.

Some things to note:
You can only buy 1 gun per category. Categories are not sof categories. There are 3 - pistols, nades and everything between. So that means that shotgun shares space with m4/ak etc and you cannot buy both.

Also like CS, your running speed depends on the gun you carry.

You also need to buy armor, otherwise you’re an easy target.

Nades you can buy all 4, but once.

Any feedback / bugs are welcome here.

@Janno has been working recently on a new gametype called 1fx. # CSINF based on Counter-Strike

Basically, it's a normal INF Gametype where you have to capture the case, but at the beginning of each round, you need to buy your equipment, including weapons, armor, and grenades.

  1. How to buy your equipment

    - At the beginning of each round, you will be informed of how much money you have available to buy your equipment

    - You can buy your equipment with money earned from kills and playing.

    You will open your console and type /buy to access all available equipment


    Since you will start with limited money, only what you can afford will appear

    But as you play and get kills, your purchasing power starts to increase

    To buy a weapon, type in the console /buy *Item you want*
    You have to type the code that is in Alias 1, for example: /buy shotgun

    Important:
    - There are 3 categories for weapons: Nades, Pistols and Main Weapons (AK-47, M4, SHOTGUN, ETC...)

    - You can only buy one weapon per category, that means you cannot use AK or M4 + Shotgun because it belongs to the same category.
    - Nades are the only thing you can buy more than once, you can buy all 4 nades, but once.
    - You need to buy armor every round or you'll be an easy target.

    Blue Team can use AK-47 but cannot buy M4
    - Red Team can use M4 but cannot buy AK-47


  2. Money from rounds and kills

    - Each time you kill a player, you earn +$300

    - Whenever you capture the briefcase on the blue team, you get +$500

    - When you win the round, your team earns +$3500

    - When you lose the round...
    1st lost round, your team earns +$1400
    2nd lost round, your team earns +$1900
    3rd lost round, your team earns +$2400
    4th lost round, your team earns +$3400 and this is the limit
    If you win a round and then lose again, it resets back to $1400

    - If you kill youself or move to spectators, you lose -$300

  3. Speed and Weapon Weight

    - The weight of the weapons will affect your speed, just like in CS.
    - In other words, the heavier the weapon, the slower you will run. So if speed is 300, then light gun means it decreases 3 percent => effective speed is 291. For machinegun it is 240 etc.

And that's basically it, the rest you already know, as it works like a normal INF that you should be familiar with.

Thanks for the post Legacy

I will add one point - the economy is subject to change based on what the gameplay feels like. For example, playing today against bots (hotway and some egy, so basically bots), I ended up not buying anything and having max cash because they enver killed me and I never ran out of utils.

Also do note - weapons which you have at round end will carry over to next round with full ammo. If you don't have that weapon any more (e.g. nades which you used), those you will need to rebuy.
Armor is also shared across rounds. Armor will not regen and you will have to rebuy it.

I also merged the 2 threads together as Legacy's overview is more detailed.

All feedback is welcome here.

NB - if for whatever weird reason this gametype will actually pick up traction, we will also balance some guns (e.g. make M3A1 more viable than it is now, change prices or kill rewards on some of them etc).

Suggestion: should only able to buy weapons inside the spawn radius.

yep, armor and goggles will have that part. Will change it so that goggles would get checked and armor would be incremental up until max.

thought about it but 20sec limit is already quite low. Only point where this would be useful is if you go out with some trash gun to get a fast kill for a fast upgrade. But 9/10 that won't happen.

Blue Team can use AK-47 but cannot buy M4
- Red Team can use M4 but cannot buy AK-47
Also one thing about above - whilst blue cannot buy m4 and red cannot buy AK, they can still pick it up and it’ll be theirs up until they die.
 
The server is now set up to a rotating mapcycle as well. Current maps are mp_shop, mp_finca and mp_dep1
NB: Server has falldamage turned on. We will most likely also turn on friendly fire to make it a bit more "realistic". But for that we need to get punishments first. So up until that, friendlyfire is turned off.

FYI friendly fire is on. Damage to teammates is halved. Upon killing you lose 1000. No other punishments yet, but if this gets abused much then we’ll think of something
