Hello,

So what is demo recording well here is my own explanation of it: Demo is a game built-in recorder and most fps games have demo recording especially the ones based on quake3 engine like (Sof2, CSGO and TF2). so anyway why you should use demo over other recorders because Demo is not just a normal recorder because it lets you record in-game without stressing the game and losing fps also its created files would not take alot of space as you would with a external normal recorder so it is very easy to share your demos afterwards. well but the cons of demo recording is that it is not viewable file because it can only be viewed with game you recorded like if you recorded a demo inside SoF2 you can only playback and view it by Sof2. but you can record demos afterwards with any normal recording program like (fraps, bandicam,... etc) then it will be a normal view-able video file and can be used in video editing programs because the main point of Demo is to keep your game smooth while recording.

So How to record a demo:

1- Open up your console

2- Set \g_synchronousclients 1

3- Type \record to start recording

4- Set \g_synchronousclients 0

5- Type \stoprecord to stop recording

I know that are the steps are very slow so i made a script that lets you record and stop recording with one key check it out here: https://forums.3d-sof2.com/threads/demo-recording-script-repost.80/

So after your done recording you should find your recorded demo in RPM/demos folder in your sof2 directory.
